May 6th, 2001 ROMCO race at Fort Worth, TX

Updated August 26th, 2001

On May 6th, 2001 we went to the ROMCO Super Late Model race at Texas Motor Speedway. The race was held on the infield Road Course. We qualified 9th out of 23 cars. Road racing is fun. I sort of ran off the track (actually went spinning into the grass) in the first corner and had to play catch up at the start of the race. On the 17th lap I felt a sudden vibration coming out of turn 2 and pulled into the pits. The bracket that holds the top link for the rear end had almost pulled off the frame. The vibration was caused by the mis-aligned drive shaft. We were done for the day. See the race results. Cheryl took all the following photos. - Kris.
